The ‘Bloquons Tout’ (Let's Block Everything) movement is a spontaneous citizen mobilisation that emerged in France in 2025 in response to the austerity measures proposed in François Bayrou's 2026 budget. Protesters denounced the elimination of public holidays and cuts to social benefits, and demanded an improvement in the standard of living for the working and middle classes. In Paris, several attempts were made to block the ring road and bus depots, but according to the police headquarters, these actions were largely contained. Numerous arrests were made and the authorities deployed significant security measures to limit the disruption. Despite its limited impact in the capital, the movement illustrates a deep social malaise and growing opposition to government policies that are considered unfair. This reportage follows the strikes in Place de la République on September 10th and the following protest, primarily in Place de la Nation, on September 18th.
